Russia and China will enhance military cooperation
’s deputy prime minister and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov met in Moscow on Tuesday Chief of Staff of People’s Liberation Army of China Liang Guanglie.
“Russia wishes to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two arms, which is consistent with long-term interests of both countries and is beneficial to regional stability and world peace,” Ivanov said at the meeting.
The two men discussed the deepening of political dialogue and cooperation between Russia and China on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the Organization of the Shanghai Cooperation on Safety in regions of Central Asia and Asia Pacific.
Mr. Liang was held earlier Tuesday with his Russian counterpart Yuri Baluyevsky of sustenance likely include the delivery of military hardware and Russian weapons, as well as training of military personnel for the Chinese armed forces in institutions higher education under the Russian Ministry of Defense.
